Rochester Gear has continually invested in the latest state-of-the-art gear inspection equipment. In 2008, a Gleason 475 GMM Gear Analyzer was installed in the quality lab. This CNC gear metrology system provides Rochester Gear with world-class gear inspection accuracy.
Community Involvement
RIT Baja Program
Rochester Gear is a long time sponsor of the Rochester Institute of Technology’s Baja Team! Baja SAE is a collegiate design series sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). RIT Baja has an extensive history of being a top ten team on a national level out of hundreds of schools throughout the country. Each year, a new vehicle is designed, fabricated, and built to compete in dynamic competitive events and judged on design and manufacturing efficiencies. Rochester Gear is proud to support and sponsor the RIT Baja Team.
Cooperative Education Program with RIT
For over a decade, Rochester Gear has provided paid learning opportunities for RIT students to engineer and manufacture gears. RIT’s cooperative education program is designed for students to work and learn in real-world settings, interact with industry experts, and explore professional work environments. Rochester Gear has also hired several RIT graduates as full-time faculty.
High School Tours
Rochester Gear supports the next generation pursuing skilled trades! We actively collaborate with area high schools to provide presentations and shop tours to encourage students who are interested in machining as a career.
